A Trip Down Marga's Lane...
National Anthem @ The Wizards Game

Last week I had the opportunity to sing the anthem for the Wizards/Bucks game in DC. It was a lot of fun, met a lot of dope people and DC is such a great city. Peep the video here>> NATIONAL ANTHEM
I don’t know if it’s strange or not, but I absolutely love singing the national anthem. I wish I could sing it at every event especially the Super Bowl and the NBA playoffs, hopefully one day soon. I also can’t believe my high school still uses my recording of the national anthem from when I was 17. Such a blessing to have hometown support. God Bless America! xo

It’s been a while but Ladie and I are back with another cover. We decided to take it back to the 90′s and re-do a popular Lauryn Hill song. S/O to our lovely friends, Crystal, Lacy and Siri for helping us with the video!

Back in January I had the opportunity to sing the anthem for the New Orleans Hornets. I had a blast and definitely stuffed my face with Jambalaya and Shrimp Creole. ; )

In the past few days I decided to record some cover songs, mostly because I couldn’t get these particular songs out of my head. I had so much fun working on them that I will be posting more videos soon. S/O to Elliot for playing guitar.

I got another positive song for y’all since I’ve recently been in some great spirits. Plus, it’s just the start of the new year. Let’s make this year bigger and better than the last. Fall Into Place is produced by my good friend and very talented musician/producer, Nick Shanholtz a.k.a NM$. I am so blessed to be working with him again, we met while we were both back at Berklee College of Music. You should definitely expect a lot more from us this year. We’ve got some goodies up our sleeves. Please feel free to leave a comment and let us know what you think!
Love you all!

Believe

Over the summer I shot another music video for my song “Believe”. I wrote this song in my last semester of college back at Berklee. I remember one night being so fed up with everything and everyone that I started playing the piano to calm myself. This song is what came out of that frustration. The song is about never giving up and believing in yourself when everything feels hopeless. The lyrics I wrote are what I wanted someone to tell me at that moment in time. Since no one was around, I had to tell myself. Sometimes we are stronger than we know and are capable of pulling ourselves out of the mud, so to speak.
This video was shot in my living room on my great grandmother’s piano that I grew up playing. It means a lot to me to be able to bring my past into my present and to be able share it with you. There were many memories played on that piano. The first time I learned a scale to playing my first classical piece to writing my first song and so on. The rest of the video was shot around NYC at places that have and still mean a great deal to me. I grew up in that city. I breathe that city. I am that city.
I hope you enjoy watching as much as I did making this video. Feel free to leave comment and let me know what you think.
P.S Please help support FALLING WHISTLES and DL “BELIEVE” on iTunes. I teamed up with this great non-profit and all proceeds will be going to them to help with their initiatives for peace in the Congo.
As always thank you for your continued support.

Ladie and I are at it again with our 2nd cover song, Drake’s “Shot For Me”. We decided to re-write the song in response to what his lyrics are about. If you’re not familiar with the song, you can check it out HERE.

In The Morning, Please?

Some of you may not know, but J. Cole is hands down one of my favorite artists. I think I just might know about every lyric to all of his songs, no lie. A few months ago I was fooling around on my piano and taught myself how to play In The Morning. The track is beautiful and the piano part is so mesmerizing. In fact, I decided to learn all the instrumental parts. The bass line is so dope. ((music nerd moment)) A month or so passes by and I hit up my girl and I’m like “Yo, we need to do a cover, you’re going to rap and I’ll figure out something to do.” Then that one song turned into two songs, the second one being my other favorite, Lights Please. I thought it would be dope to have it coming from a female’s perspective. I figured out a piano acoustic arrangement for the songs and we got into the studio, shot a video and are now sharing our creativity with the world. Shout out to Ladie, for writing some dope verses and to the Fly Guys’, Tone & Evan, for shooting the video.
p.s if you haven’t heard the original songs, be sure to go cop them and check out J. Cole rightttt HERE!

Here it is!!! ((insert “girly squeal” here)) I shot this video over the summer when I was back home in NY. I decided to use the acoustic version of “Rebound” because I felt it was more personal than a fully produced song.
Without the help and talent of the following people this video would not have been possible.
A HUGE THANKS TO: Sebastian Savino and Ian McGregor Moran for making my vision come to life. You guys shot one dope video. Rucker Park. All of the very talented ball players. Each One Teach One, Robert McCullough, George Ball. My Mom and My Aunt Tracey, for making it all possible. To my family, friends and fans for always being a constant support. I truly appreciate you all! And last but definitely not least to My Inspiration, thank you.
